About Our Club

Rotary Activate is a bold and energised initiative within Rotary District 9800, designed to engage a new generation of community-minded changemakers. We’re reimagining what it means to be part of Rotary - placing flexibility, creativity, and meaningful impact at the heart of everything we do.

Activate is built for people who are passionate about making a difference but may not fit the traditional Rotary model. Our members are professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs, and doers who want to take action on the causes they care about, without the formality or constraints of weekly meetings. Whether it’s tackling local issues, amplifying youth voices, or collaborating on global initiatives, we come together when it counts and bring fresh ideas to life.

We value hands-on projects, collaboration, and storytelling. From grassroots volunteering to digital advocacy, we believe that service can take many forms, and that everyone has something to offer. Rotary Activate is about creating space for innovation while staying true to Rotary’s core values of Service Above Self, Fellowship, Diversity, Integrity, and Leadership.

Join us and be part of a movement that’s reimagining service for today’s world - dynamic, inclusive, and action-driven.

About Rotary

Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million members who are united in a shared mission to create lasting, positive change in the world. With clubs in nearly every country, Rotary brings together people from diverse backgrounds who want to give back to their communities and work on meaningful projects. Guided by values of service, integrity, and fellowship, Rotary members volunteer their time and skills to tackle pressing local and global issues.

At the heart of Rotary’s mission are seven Areas of Focus, which guide the organisation’s work and help ensure that each project addresses real needs sustainably. These areas include: Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene, Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy, community economic development, and environmental support. By focusing on these pillars, Rotary projects make a direct and measurable impact - whether it’s providing clean drinking water, supporting local schools, offering vocational training, or helping communities recover from natural disasters.

The benefit to the community is far-reaching. Rotary initiatives not only address immediate needs but also build long-term capacity and resilience. Local Rotary clubs partner with schools, councils, healthcare providers, and grassroots organisations to identify challenges and create locally-led solutions. This collaborative, hands-on approach strengthens communities, fosters connection, and inspires a culture of volunteerism and shared responsibility.

Ultimately, Rotary empowers individuals to make a difference. Whether it’s mentoring youth, planting trees, building infrastructure, or supporting mental health programs, Rotary members are active agents of change - working every day to make a stronger, healthier, and more equitable world.
